As the old elephant lumbers off to the traditional and mythical burial ground. In her/his farewell march, the long-lived pachyderm passes the iconic Baobab tree. This unusual but majestic tree is among the oldest living fauna on earth. Human intervention in this natural life cyclical idyll here takes the form of a warning sign indicating an unguarded level crossing. The diagonal lines all compositionally point back to the central focus. Trains cross, elephants cross and trees cross – we all cross over.
