American helmet designs have for many decades been closely based on the tried and tested WWII German M42 Wehrmacht example.

American Imperial Military Forces have dominated the World since 1945 and their helmets have become a ubiquitous symbol of capitalist oppression.

The physical elision of these two effective designs and their later evolution into the Integrated Head Protection System (IHPS) cannot but be interpreted as a strong deep-seated metaphor.
