Fissured landscape – 2026

Two stretched canvases fitted in severed antique frame. H60 x W55 cm (including frame)

Landscape is usually constructed around an horizon line. Here, by forced implication we have an horizon seen from a low angle. In terms of content (there is none). this a conceptual deconstructive provocation – to contemplate and reassess the essential nature of landscape in art. It has the primary ingredients viz. stretched canvases and a frame, but the viewer would imaginatively have to fill-in the their own (ideal) representation, to finish the work.
