The photograph of a zebra skin African drum hovering over an arid Australian painted landscape is reminiscent of the alien invasion of South Africa in the science fiction film parody “District Nine” . Are South African immigrants surreptitiously taking over Australia?
A satirical parallel observation of the general white (settler) invasion of Australia.
ps. On a personal note: on the 22nd November 1978 the artist gave up smoking cigarettes. In his opinion, to date, this is his life’s highest achievement.
